Tips for finals

April 18, 2023

The school year is starting to come to an end and finals are soon. Many are scrambling to study and finish all their work on time. Nervous about exams? Here are some tips to help you pass:

  1. Do not procrastinate!

Although it seems tempting, waiting until the last minute is one of the worst things you can do. Try to turn in your missing work now and study while you still have time. You don’t want to end up cramming the night before finals.

      2. Make sure to get proper sleep and nutrients

It may be stressful, but self-care is still very important. Not only will it help your brain to learn but it will also help your mental health and motivation. You don’t want to be too tired or hungry right before exams and be unable to focus. It’s important!

      3. Get rid of distractions and find a cozy place to study

Making a playlist to help focus or study in an environment that is not too chaotic can be very beneficial to studying. Try turning off your phone as well to limit distractions. This way, not only are you comfortable, but you can also be more confident in yourself for testing.

      4. Try a study group

If you do not like to study by yourself or find it difficult, try a study group. Working in groups can help further your understanding and find new ideas that you may not have been able to on your own. It helps you communicate and problem-solve more efficiently as well.

      5. Flashcards

Practicing questions and writing them down can be a great way of studying. Memorization is crucial to passing exams and flashcards or practice questions can help with that.

Just try to stay focused and keep a positive mindset and you are sure to pass as long as you study and try your best. You got this!
