It happened yet again, another assassination attempt on former president Donald Trump.
On September 15th, Donald Trump was at his golf course in Florida, when Secret Services rushed Trump out of the course, as one of them spotted an AK-47 sticking out of one of the bushes.
Before rumors had spread online, Trump took to social media and released a statement on X, “…for the incredible job done today at Trump International in keeping me, as the 45th President of the United States, and the Republican Nominee in the upcoming Presidential Election, SAFE.”
The shooter in question is a middle-aged man named Ryan Routh who is a registered Democrat; however, it was found out that in the 2016 election, he had voted for Trump and was disappointed with his presidential term.
Routh has a history of crimes related to assault weapons and allegedly tried to fight in the Ukraine-Russian war back when it first started but had allegedly been denied due to his age.
He appeared in federal court on September 16th with 2 firearm charges and more is expected to be added.
Kamala Harris took to X about a few hours after the incident stating, “I have been briefed on reports of gunshots fired near former President Trump and his property in Florida, and I am glad he is safe. Violence has no place in America.” She reportedly called Trump on Tuesday, September 17th to ensure he was doing alright.
Trump still blamed Kamala Harris and Joe Biden for the attempted assassination on him, claiming, “Because of this Communist Left Rhetoric, the bullets are flying, and it will only get worse!”
No matter if you’re a Republican or a Democrat, violence should never be the answer.
