The Los Angeles Dodgers are World Series Champions. The Dodgers started the series strong with a 3 to 6 win against the New York Yankees, thanks to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, who hit a walk-off grand slam to win the game, the first in World Series history. The Dodgers continued strong against the Yankees in the following two games, winning both but falling short in Game 4, losing to the Yankees 4 to 11.
The Dodgers came prepared for game five after a tough loss in game four. The Dodgers came back strong and were able to catch up to the Yankees in the fifth inning, tying the score 5 to 5. In the eighth inning, the Dodgers were able to take the lead. Dodgers pitcher Walker Buehler was able to bring it home for the Dodgers in the bottom of the ninth.
This is the Los Angeles Dodgers eighth World Series title and their first win in five years since winning the Tampa Bay Rays in 2020. This is an important win for the Dodgers because they were heavily criticized about their 2020 win because it was a shorter season because of COVID-19.
“I mean, we’re obviously resilient, but there’s so much love in this clubhouse and care that that won this game today; that’s what it was; it was love; it was grit; I mean, it was just a beautiful thing” says Dodger player Mookie Betts
This is Mookie Betts second World Series win as a Los Angeles Dodgers and is a big part of the team; just like he said, the Dodgers have a special bond and a strong love that really helped them win.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are a resilient team that works hard and truly deserves this win.
