As Thanksgiving break is just a few days away, the deadline for college applications for UCs and CSUs are slowly approaching as well. Seniors, the deadline for these applications is December 2, 2024, but it’s super important to get these submitted before going on the turkey-feasted break!
To encourage and motivate students to complete their applications for all the colleges they plan on applying to, the College Career Center is now hosting Gift Card Raffles. These raffles are for students who have submitted applications for privates/out of state schools, community colleges, UC, and CSU!
These gift cards include student favorites, such as Starbucks, In-n-Out, Chick-fil-A, and many more exciting ones!
“I think it’s very important for the students to submit their college applications early so that they can enjoy their thanksgiving and winter breaks,” Peer College Advisor Kristine Padilla says. “The raffles give students a more immediate tangible incentive to reach their college deadlines because it also gives them the opportunity to win something with the hard work they have put into their applications!”
The last days to apply for these raffles are January 31, 2025 for Privates/Out of State Schools, March 31, 2025 for California Community Colleges, and December 3, 2024 for CSUs/UCs. Simply scan the QR codes to get your ticket today!
Padilla says, “My advice for students still working on their applications would be that you are never too behind to start. It’s honestly an overwhelming process for me and I’m sure for many other students, but setting time aside everyday and working on them little by little has helped me a lot. Slowly overtime some progress everyday will get you closer to finishing and it is within your power to complete them!”
Not sure how to do your applications? Stop by CCC and get some help from the lovely CCC staff and Peer Advisors! They will help look over your application, check your PIQs, and any other assistance you may need for this process!
If you still have more questions with applications, El Rancho will be hosting an “Apps-Giving”, an open lab for students and parents to complete college applications and get a head-start on your financial aid account! The event will be held on November 21, 2024 from 4-7 P.M. in H-2.
