Are you looking for new music to listen to?
Men I Trust have announced not one but two new albums — Equus Asinus and Equus Caballus — with Equus Asinus out now! “This is our biggest and proudest work yet,” Men I Trust say.
Equus Asinus is 14 tracks long, including their meditative and dazed magic. This album is the first installment of a two-part project, with the companion album, Equus Caballus, scheduled for release later this spring.
“I really loved Equus Asinus,” says Emma Gonzalez. “I think all of the songs off the album are really refreshing and nostalgic to listen to. I definitely recommend this album for others to listen to!”
Equus Asinus presents a notable evolution in Men I Trust’s sound, blending their signature dream-pop style with folk-inspired acoustic elements. Listeners will find the melodies and rhythms characteristic of the band, now enriched with a folksy, acoustic palette.
The album comprises tracks such as “I Come With Mud,” “All My Candles,” “Bethlehem,” “Frost Bite,” “Heavenly Flow,” and “The Landkeeper.” These songs showcase the band’s exploration of new sonic landscapes while maintaining the ethereal vocals and hypnotic melodies that have become their hallmark.
“I really loved all of the songs on Equus Asinus,” says Gonzalez. “Some of my favorite songs include Frost Bite, Bethlehem, and Paul’s Theme.”
“Early in the writing and recording process, we realized we had a collection of songs with distinct energies yet equally meaningful to us,” the band explained on X. “It became clear that we wanted to release them as two separate entities both from the same genus: Equus Asinus and Equus Caballus.”
“I am really excited to hear Equus Callabus,” says Gonzalez. “It would be nice to hear more songs like Rings of Past or Porcelain, those were nice instrumentals from past albums. Either way I’m excited to see what they have in store!”
In support of Equus Asinus and the forthcoming Equus Caballus, Men I Trust has announced a North American tour starting in April 2025. The tour will include performances in cities such as Brooklyn, Boston, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Atlanta, and will conclude in Philadelphia on September 6th.
