Coachella is known to be one of the biggest annual music festivals held in California, which features a variety of artists in the lineup, immersive activities, and delicious foods. The festival often attracts many young teens and adults, from social media influencers to the average person who enjoys listening to music.
On Day 2 of the music festival, before Clairo took the stage, Senator Bernie Sanders made a surprise appearance, as he encouraged thousands of the young adult fans in attendance to vote out President Donald Trump’s new policies.
“This country faces some very difficult challenges. And the future of what happens to America is dependent upon your generation. Now you can turn away and you can ignore what goes on, but if you do that, you do it at your own peril,” the Vermont senator says.
As Sanders references Donald Trump’s name during this speech, the crowd starts to form loud boos to which he then replies, “I agree.”
He also shows his appreciation for Clairo before introducing them, saying, “I’m here because Clairo had used her prominence to fight for women’s rights, to try to end the terrible brutal war in Gaza where thousands of women and children are being killed. So I want to thank Clairo for not only being in a great band, but for the great work she is doing.”
Later that night after Clairo’s set, he shares to social media writing:
Many people reacted on social media, grateful and appreciated the Senator’s speech of urgency to save the state of America.
