As the 24-25 school year begins to wind down, students in Mr. Sauceda’s US Government and US History classes have prepared to end things off with a show (literally).
The annual Sauceda Idol project is back again, and students were given the opportunity to turn lessons into songs. The project challenges students to gather information from every unit studied throughout the year and rewrite the lyrics for a popular song.
The catch is, the song has to be performed in front of the class, whether it’s singing, playing instruments, or rapping. All the performances are recorded and posted to YouTube, allowing the students to show off to a wider audience as well as create a memory to look back on.
It’s a fun and creative way to review everything learned while also showing off the students’ musical side. Not only does it make the end of the year a bit more exciting, but it adds some competition to the classroom.
So if you heard students singing out government facts to the tune of a pop hit, now you know it’s just Sauceda Idol season.
