Last Friday, the Dons girls’ flag football team continued its strong start with a 7-0 victory over the Baldwin Park Braves. This victory brings our Dons to a 2-0 record for this season.
The game was tough for both teams as both teams struggled to find an opening to score. The Dons’ defense stepped up when Malaya Vargas, Viany LaFarga, Karly Yatco, and Valeria Jimenez all secured interceptions. The Dons’ strong defense was key to this game against the Braves. Later in the quarter, an amazing touchdown was scored by Melissa Perez, putting the Dons in the lead 6-0. Following that, an extra point was scored by Karly Yatco to finish off the Braves with a 7-0 victory.
The Dons are looking to take their winning ways into their next matchup, when they face off against the Norwalk Lancers on Saturday, September 6th, at 10:00 am.
