After an impressive win at SoFi Stadium against South Hills, the Dons lost their home opener to Bell Gardens. Hoping to recover against West Covina, they came up just short, losing 21-14. What was expected to be a promising start in their brand new stadium ended in disappointment as the Dons fell short once again.
Last Friday, the Dons traveled across the bridge for a rivalry game against Montebello. Quarterback Adrian Lopez had a great game with 117 passing yards in thirteen attempts, also getting 2 passing touchdowns. Tight End Kevin Padilla had a great 39-yard receiving touchdown. The Dons’ defense had forty-eight tackles, led by Andrew Orihuela and Jose Osequeda, both contributing five tackles. The Dons had full control of this game, winning 34-0.
The Dons now stand at 2-2, heading to Fontana, hoping to use this momentum to start a win streak before the league starts. It will be a tough game as the Fontana Steelers have a 3-1 record coming off a 17-0 win against Ontario. Come out tonight as the Dons travel to Fontana at 7PM for their third road game of the season.
