From heat waves to Autumn leaves

Summer is finally coming to an end after months of hot weather. Now that fall is starting, people may wonder what fun activities are available. With Halloween and cold weather just around the corner, here are some fun things to do in the fall!

  1. Movies

What’s more fun than watching movies with family and friends on cold or rainy days? Curling up in a nice blanket with lots of snacks is an excellent way to bond and have fun. Some great scary movies to set the tone could be Friday the 13th and Insidious. If you want something more family-friendly, then Matilda and Hocus Pocus would be great options.

     2. Have a Picnic

A cozy picnic at the park or in your own backyard can be the perfect thing for a nice windy day. Shareable snacks, canvases for painting, a nice picnic basket, and blankets are all great things to bring for a successful picnic. With leaves gracefully falling from trees and great aromas all around, it is ensured to be a great time!

      3. Read a Book

Now, this option may not be for everyone, but I highly recommend it. I believe anyone can love reading if they find the right genre of book. Lighting a candle, playing some calming music, and reading is always a great combination. Some books I’d recommend during this season are Virgin Suicides and Speak. Our school library also has great selections to choose from that could better suit your specific genre of reading.

      4. Try some seasonal foods and drinks

Lots of places have items perfect for this season. Go out and try some new drinks like Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte or Dunkin Donuts Butter Pecan Latte. Some foods to try could be Panera Bread’s Autumn Squash Soup or Wendy’s Chili. The possibilities are endless with all the local food places to eat at.

       5. Spirit Halloween

One of my personal favorites, go check out Spirit Halloween! It is only open during fall and has so many awesome items. They have cool masks, costumes, blankets, mugs, makeup, and much more. It is definitely worth a visit or two. If Halloween is your favorite holiday, this might be the perfect visit for you.
