Ice cream sandwiches

Ice cream sandwiches are frozen desserts that are made up of a layer of ice cream, sandwiched between two wafers, biscuits, cookies, or other baked goods. The middle layer of ice cream can be any flavor. In the United States, 48 ice cream sandwiches are eaten per second. The current ice cream sandwich form was invented by Jerry Newberg in 1945. During baseball games in the Pittsburgh’s Forbes field, he would sell these treats to the viewers.

There is a holiday for ice cream sandwiches, and it is celebrated on August 2. It is called National Ice Cream Sandwich Day. The ice cream sandwich varies from country to country. In Vietnam, it is literally ice cream in between two pieces of bread. In the United States, the ice cream is put in between two chocolate wafer pieces with holes in them. In Iran, it is either rose-flavored or pistachio ice cream that is put in the middle of two thin wafers.

The ice cream cookie sandwich is a variant of the ice cream sandwich. A vendor from San Francisco, California in 1928 put a scoop of ice cream between a pair of oatmeal cookies before dipping it in chocolate.

No matter from where you are, ice cream sandwiches are still a popular frozen dessert or snack to have.
