I was born on February 6th, 2004 in Bellflower, and since then until I was 5 years old, I lived in La Puente. While living in La Puente, I went to preschool in Los Molinos Elementary in Hacienda Heights. When I moved to Pico Rivera in 2009, I attended kindergarten in Birney Elementary and my first semester of 1st grade in Valencia. From my second semester of 1st grade through the 5th grade, I attended Durfee Elementary, where I began discovering my true self, meeting some really inspirational teachers including Mr Cunningham and Mrs Martinez, making true friends, and even discovering my interest in engineering.
I went to middle school at North Park, where I joined the band and played the saxophone, as well as taking a Project Lead The Way(PLTW) class in the 7th grade. The band director’s name was Mr Wakefield, and with them, I played at a homeless shelter in Santa Ana called the Isaiah House, in parades located in Downey, Lynwood, Koreatown in Los Angeles, and Hawaiian Gardens, a veterans home in Northern California, and even the world famous Carnegie Hall in New York City(My school was the first middle school to play here). In middle school, I also joined the Where Everybody Belongs(WEB) Leadership program, where I went to Disneyland on a field trip and learned the aspects of a true leader in Disney’s Youth Educational Services(YES) program. At the end of every year, there was this event called the Lancer Palooza and only students with a 2.0 GPA and up could attend. I also went on a week-long field trip to Washington, D.C. and New York, where I got to see the White House, the US Capitol, the Smithsonian museums, the Pentagon, the 9/11 memorial and museum, and even watch a Broadway Show called “Come From Away”. I graduated middle school with Honors by maintaining a 3.3 GPA or up for all 3 years and received a gold cord for it.
I am currently a Junior at El Rancho High School(Go Big Blue!) and am taking PLTW electives, Precalculus Honors and IB Literature, as well as getting involved in the Engineering Club and the Swimming and Water Polo teams. In my freshman and sophomore years, I was involved in the wrestling team. I also gained an interest in playing the electric guitar. This is my first year in the El Rodeo staff and I am currently in the Twitter team for Journalism. When I graduate high school, I plan on attending a CSU, particularly aiming for Cal State LA because of their engineering program(They have one of the best in the world!) and completing my degree in civil engineering.
