Mrs. Kathryn Adame, previously the Dean of Students, has been given the privilege of having a new and more exciting role in the El Rancho school system. At the start of the 24-25 school year, Adame was promoted to the role of Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction, and she is ready to face the new challenges that come with the job.
Adame said, “I’m excited about this new role because it’s a new experience, and I’m looking for a good challenge.”
Although Adame does not seem to display even the slightest of nerves, being tasked with the role of Assistant Principal of Curriculum is laborious and puts a lot on her plate, seeing that this year is the most challenging due to it being her first year with the job.
Adame said, “What comes with the job is anything related to the curriculum and the education of the students, some examples being the tools that both the students and teachers need, anything needed in the classroom to facilitate learning. The biggest part of my job is creating the master schedule. I want to make sure that there aren’t too many conflicts in the students’ schedules, giving everyone the opportunity to take the classes that they need and want to take.”
There is a lot that comes with the title of being the Assistant Principal of Curriculum as this role is very involved with both students and staff.
Adame said, “Although I am more nervous than excited, I want to do a good job. I was a student at El Rancho, and I want to do the best I can for the sake of the students and staff.”
There are a lot of eyes on Adame at the moment; many of the staff members, specifically the staff in the office are rooting for Adame, and they are excited to see what she can do with her new role. Someone who is greatly looking forward to what Adame can do with her role is our principal, Mr. Kendall Goyenaga.
Goyenaga said, “We are very excited about Mrs. Adame and her new role, we feel that she is going to continue to make our program stronger. She has the knowledge, the commitment, and she is dedicated to making our program stronger and better. We’ll definitely continue to improve our school for our students’ success.”
There is a lot of trust being put into Adame at the moment, but many people do agree that she has to be the best option for the role. The role of Assistant Principal of Curriculum is demanding and Adame has to put a lot of effort into it.
Goyenaga said, “The difficult part of the job is that she continues to build relations with our students and has a clear understanding of our programs and the directions she wants to take the programs in.”
Although the role seems harrowing now, Adame has the support of the students and staff, and many are looking forward to seeing what she can accomplish for the school and the students.
