As the season progresses, the boys’ and girls’ varsity soccer teams at El Rancho High School continue to exhibit their hard work and dedication on and off the field, all while maintaining their energy in every match. With every passing game, both teams have not failed to demonstrate that teamwork and determination go a long way while they strive for success.
The boys started the season with two tough losses against Pioneer and Baldwin Park. However, they quickly reminded fans of their resilience and bounced back, securing two back-to-back victories against Arroyo and Downey.
Meanwhile, the girls had a strong start to the season with a strong 3-2 win against Downey. The momentum only increased as they shut down Bell Gardens and Alhambra without letting them score once, showcasing their defensive strength and teamwork.
“I’m excited to see the outcome of the league and if we become league champs by the end of the season,” varsity defender Emily Garcia says. “My favorite moments are mostly at practice with all my friends and building a bond with each and every one of them.”
With a focus on team building and constant improvement, El Rancho’s varsity soccer teams are determined to make use of their potential this season and are excited as the Del Rio League is now underway.
During the Del Rio League, both the boys’ and girls’ teams will have to perform to the best of their abilities, facing the toughest competition of the year.
El Rancho’s varsity soccer teams kicked off the Del Rio League season with determination but provided mixed results in their opening games. In their league openers, the boys celebrated a hard-fought 2-1 victory over La Serna, while the girls fell just short despite their efforts in a competitive 2-1 match against the same opponent.
Taking on Santa Fe, the girls bounced back much stronger and claimed victory, earning a remarkable 5-1. The boys also showed their strength, ending their match in a tie, leaving the score at 2-2.
Looking ahead, the teams are eager to build on their skills and abilities and produce a lasting impression this season. With their focus on momentum and performance, El Rancho’s soccer teams are ready to give it their all in the games to come.
