The boys tennis team at El Rancho High School has started the season strong with a 4-4 overall record after their first league match. The team has played eight matches so far and has shown improvement from last season. Players have been working hard in both singles and doubles to compete against tough schools in the area.
One of the players on the varsity roster is Adrian and Kenny, who competes in singles matches and help lead the team on the court. Players like Adrian are important because singles matches count as points toward the final team score. Strong serving and long rallies from the singles lineup have helped the Dons stay close in several matches this season.
Another key player on the roster is Luis Flores, who has also contributed in matches this year. Flores has helped the team by competing in both singles and doubles when needed. Having players who can compete in multiple positions gives the team flexibility during matches and helps the coaches set up strong lineups. A doubles team that has been very impressive this season is Johnny and Ricardo leading the team with the most Double wins.
Other varsity players on the roster also play important roles for the team in doubles. Doubles teams rely on teamwork, communication, and quick reactions at the net. These players help the Dons earn important points in team matches, which has helped El Rancho reach a 4-4 record early in the season. As league play continues, the team hopes their players will keep improving and turn the even record into a winning season.
