El Rancho High School football finishes the regular season with a record of 6-4. The Dons look to have a strong playoff run as they face Pacifica tonight in the first round of CIF. El Rancho will travel to Bolsa Grande Stadium to face Pacifica at 7 p.m. This matchup will be tough for the Dons, as Pacifica has a record of 7-3, coming off a flawless league record of 5-0. El Rancho defeated Santa Fe 29-3 last Friday to conclude the league with a record of 3-1, allowing them to advance to the Division 10 playoffs. Quarterback Adrian Lopez had 125 passing yards with 2 touchdowns in the game to help lead his team to victory. Running back Braylon Morrison had 77 rushing yards with 2 touchdowns. El Rancho put up a great performance heading into CIF. Pacifica gets ready to host the Dons as they finish the league 5-0, winning the Omicron League. Pacifica defeated Portola last Friday, 20-7, to win the league. Portola defeated El Rancho last year in the state championship final, so this shows how tough a game this will be for El Rancho. Pacifica Quarterback James Anema completed 135 passing yards with 2 touchdowns to take down the reigning champs. Running back Ma’kai Brown rushed for 161 yards with 1 touchdown. This will be a great game between both sides with similar records. El Rancho hopes to bring home the win tonight. El Rancho is looking to host a playoff game in their brand-new stadium, so hopefully, this gives the boys motivation to go out and play hard.
