Will Doomsday be successful? After we have gotten 4 teasers, or “clues,” which the Russo brothers have stated on Instagram, a big question is, will this finally bring back the MCU after the disappointing projects after Endgame? Well, as of today, the four teasers online have reached a combined total of a billion views, which seems like a sign of hype we haven’t seen for so long.
What’s confirmed?
The movie will be about the collapse of the Multiverse, and the lead villain will be Doctor Doom, played by the returning actor of Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. Another thing that is confirmed is that the original 2000s X-Men, the MCU Fantastic Four, the Wakandans, and the New Avengers will be in the movie to fight Doom. This movie will be released on December 18, 2026.

Some reports have said that the movie will include the return of Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, and Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. But just remember, these are just speculations, not confirmed. But many fans, including me, are convinced that these are true based on evidence on the actors. Let’s start with Tobey. Tobey has been seen out of nowhere in London, which is the location where Doomsday was filmed. You know, it could just be him on vacation or something, but it ties perfectly with the doomsday movie. Next is Hugh Jackman, who was asked on The View, “I know you can’t say much, but can you say something? Huge response with “I really can’t say much. Except when you say appear… when you say appear, it’s more like dominate and destroy every other.” This has made many speculate that, oh yeah, he’s in it. Next, Ryan Reynolds posted a post on Instagram with an Avengers symbol with a red sprayed A on it. Making fans think he’s teasing us that he will indeed be in the movie.
Fan Theories
The number one question that fans are asking is, why does Doctor Doom look like Tony Stark? Well, there are a couple of theories. Let’s start with the most popular one. Doctor Doom is simply a variant of Tony. What this means is that Doctor Doom is Tony, but he made huge different decisions in his timeline compared to Tony that we have seen in the films.
The second theory is that Doctor Doom is purposely trying to look like Tony to mess with the Avengers, who knew him personally and would find it emotionally hard to fight him, knowing how good a hero he was. Theory on why the 2000s X-Men are coming to the MCU universe. The theory most fans believe is that the 2000s X-Men universe is collapsing or dying, and a lot of X-Men will die, and they will be sucked into the MCU timeline. They are in grief and sorrow and want answers. When they meet the New Avengers, they, for whatever reason, see them as a threat and fight them, finally showing the two big franchises fighting on screen. Something fans have been dying for for years.
They later realize that they are not a threat, and they are both trying to fix the collapse of the multiverse.

Like I said before, after this movie, a year apart, there will be a part two called “Avengers: Secret Wars.” Just in case you don’t want to hear the most likely spoilers, I suggest clicking off this article. According to the leaked The lead characters will be Deadpool, Wolverine, Tom Holland as Spider-Man, and the OG Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man. They will try to stop Doom and make new allies with other characters. This movie will mark the end of the MCU, marking 18 years of the MCU timeline, Earth 616. Rebooting everything and making a new universe this time will have all Marvel characters in the same world. We can accept this, with even the president of Marvel, Kevin Feige, saying there will be a reboot. At the end of the day, Doomsday will be such an anticipated movie of 2026, seeing if the Avengers franchise can keep up the billion-dollar streak.
