The El Rancho High School girls soccer team has been turning heads this season with a thrilling run in the CIF playoffs. After a strong regular campaign, the Dons earned a postseason spot and then battled their way into Round 2 of the CIF Southern Section girls soccer bracket. With a 12-5-3 overall record on the season, including a 50 goals scored and only 15 conceded, El Rancho has shown both firepower and resilience on the field. 

Throughout the season, the Dons have flashed offensive skill and teamwork. They opened the season with convincing wins like a 10-0 victory over Schurr and a 4-0 win against Hawthorne, demonstrating their scoring ability early on. El Rancho also picked up key league wins and finished 3rd in the competitive Del Rio League with a 4-2-2 record, helping secure their strong playoff position. 

On the defensive end, El Rancho has been just as impressive. The team limited opponents to just 15 goals all season while streaking with three straight wins entering the second round of CIF play. In their latest playoff match, they defeated Capistrano Valley Christian 3-1, showcasing how the Dons can step up in big games and keep their postseason hopes alive. 

As the Dons prepare for Round 2 of CIF competition, the community is rallying around the team’s inspiring season. With balanced scoring across their lineup and a strong defensive foundation, El Rancho has the confidence to make an even deeper run in the postseason.
