Sebastian Medina, a senior at our high school, is finishing his final season as a member of our Dons track team while preparing for an important transition after graduation. Known for his dedication and work ethic, Sebastian has spent years developing discipline through athletics. As his high school journey concludes, Sebastian is embarking on a new journey by enlisting in the United States Navy.
During his time on the Dons track team, Sebastian learned the value of persistence, self-discipline, and pushing beyond limits. Balancing training, competitions, and school responsibilities helped prepare him for life after high school. Track not only strengthened him physically but also helped him develop the mental toughness needed to take on future challenges.
When asked why he decided to join the Navy, Sebastian explained that he was looking for something different after high school. “I wanted new experiences and opportunities to challenge myself,” he said. “College didn’t feel like the right path for me, and I knew I wanted something to push me past my limits”
Sebastian also shared advice for younger students who are still navigating school and academics. “Even if school isn’t always your favorite, the choices you make will shape your life forever,” he said. “Do your best now because it gives you more options later, no matter what path you choose.”
After graduation, Sebastian Medina will trade his track uniform for a Navy uniform as he begins the next chapter of his life. While his days of competing with the Dons may be coming to an end, the lessons he learned will continue to guide him.
