Adan Lopez has always been the kind of student who knows what he wants and goes after it, and now that graduation is right around the corner, he’s getting ready to take the next big step in his journey. After high school, Adan plans to attend California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) to pursue a degree in engineering. For Adan, this decision wasn’t random; it came from years of interest in how things work and a strong motivation to build a better future for himself. “I’ve always liked figuring out how stuff works and putting things together,” Adan said. “Engineering just felt like the right path for me, and CSUF stood out as a place where I can really grow.”
Choosing a college is never easy, but Adan made his decision after carefully thinking about what environment would help him succeed the most. He shared that CSUF’s engineering program and campus atmosphere really drew him in. “When I looked into the school, I saw a lot of opportunities, especially for engineering students,” he explained. “It felt like a place where I could challenge myself but also get the support I need.” Like many seniors, Adan is feeling a mix of excitement and nerves about leaving high school behind, but he’s ready for what’s ahead. “It’s a little scary, not gonna lie,” he admitted, “but I’m more excited than anything to start something new.”
One thing that’s making the transition a bit easier for Adan is knowing that his friend Andrew will be attending CSUF as well. “Yeah, I’m also excited that my friend Andrew is going too,” Adan said. “It just makes things a little easier knowing someone I already know will be there. We’ve been through high school together, so it’s nice that we’ll both be starting this next step at the same place.” He added, “I think it’ll help having someone familiar around while we both figure things out.”
Adan’s friends have seen his hard work over the years, and while they’re proud of him, they also know things won’t be the same without him around. His friend Leo shared how he feels about Adan moving on to this next chapter. “I’m really proud of him because I know how much effort he’s put in,” Leo said. “It’s gonna be weird not seeing him every day, but I know he’s gonna do great things.” Andrew, another close friend, had similar thoughts. “Adan’s always been focused, so it’s not surprising he’s going into engineering,” Andrew said. “I’m happy, for not only him going to CSUF but how I’m actually going myself also.”
As high school comes to an end, Adan Lopez is stepping into his future with determination and confidence. His journey to CSUF is just the beginning of what he hopes will be a successful career in engineering. While his friends will miss him, they know he’s on the right path. “I just want to make the most out of this opportunity,” Adan said. “I’m ready to work hard and see where it takes me.” For Adan, this isn’t just about going to college, it’s about building the life he’s been working toward all along.
