When I walk around El Rancho High School, I look around to find students wearing pants that sag far too down their hips than necessary, or skirts too short. Shoes that are open-toed can cause problems too, not giving their feet the support and coverage they’re needed.
Some students are coming to school with clothes that might be too revealing for a place to learn. I don’t think it distracts anyone, but it definitely looks concerning when people are walking around at 9 A.M. in cold weather with shorts that are pulled up higher or lower than they’re supposed to be, and strapless shirts unable to stay on properly.
I believe that the school’s dress code policy should be enforced just a little bit more, especially considering that a lot of the students with said outfits are around 15 through 17, which, in my opinion, looks improper. These young adults should dress appropriately to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions in public.
This doesn’t just apply to El Rancho, but all high schools and below. Students should not feel the need to wear clothes that show more skin than arms/shoulders and legs at this age.
