Senior ditch day is a tradition many high school seniors look forward to before graduation. At El Rancho High School, students have different plans for how they will spend the special day. Some students plan to celebrate with friends while others are choosing to stay at school and focus on their work.
Senior Diego Morales shared that he will spend the day supporting younger students at his old school. “I will be going to my former elementary school for a pep rally honoring senior graduating,” Diego said. He explained that he is excited to visit his old teachers and inspire younger students to work hard toward graduation.
Another senior, Jacob Garcia, plans to celebrate outdoors with friends. “I will be going to the beach with my friends and hanging out barbecuing and swimming in the water,” Jacob said. Many seniors enjoy spending time together before graduation because it gives them memories they will remember after high school ends.
Not every senior plans to ditch school. Esteban said he will stay on campus because of his responsibilities. “I cannot ditch because I have important classwork to do at school,” Esteban explained. Even though students have different opinions about senior ditch day, it remains a popular tradition for many graduating seniors at El Rancho.
