Students at El Rancho High School are excited about this year’s Super Bowl matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots. Many students believe the game will be close and competitive. Senior Diego Morales predicts the Seahawks will win 31–24, saying their offense is strong and their quarterback, Sam Darnold will throw for over 230 yards. On the other hand, Jacob Martinez thinks the Patriots will come out on top with a 24–21 win because of their defense and experience in big games.
Some students focused on game details and stats instead of just the final score. Cesar Lopez believes the defenses will play a big role and predicts there will be multiple turnovers, keeping the total score lower than expected. He thinks the game will stay tight until the final minutes. Jeremy Garcia added his prediction for the coin toss, confidently choosing heads and saying the team that wins the toss will defer to the second half.
The Super Bowl traditions were also a big topic among students. Sebastian Medina predicts the national anthem will go over two minutes because singers usually slow it down for the Super Bowl. Rene Gomez disagrees and says it will stay under two minutes this year. With mixed predictions and plenty of opinions, El Rancho students are ready to see who ends up being right when the Seahawks and Patriots face off on football’s biggest stage.
